Back surgery, cancer, triple bypass and John was susceptible to diabetes. He weighed only 130 pounds. So after physical therapy for his back, his doctor sent him to Healthtrax. Along with his doctor, his trainer Matt customized a fitness and wellness program to progressively build John’s strength, improve his diet and change his overall health.

After 8 months of walking and cardio work, John started lifting weights. Within a year he’d gained 35 pounds of muscle.

“I thank Matt every day for helping me. With exercise and a better diet, my metabolism and health have improved dramatically.” After 3 years of hard work, John gained 60 pounds of muscle, and no longer has any back pain – and he doesn’t need pain medication. “If I had started exercising and building muscles in my lower back earlier, I could probably have avoided four back operations.”

Not only was his back feeling good, but six years after bypass surgery, John’s cardiologist told him his heart looked great.

“I tell my friends they can improve their health too. It’s never too late to get started.” With Matt’s guidance, and John’s hard work, he now enjoys the many benefits of fitness – a pain free back, a healthy heart, and the strength and energy of a teenager!
