Their Story:

Our February Member spotlight features Joe and Madeline who have been married 73 years.  Joe said, “We got married November 28th on Thanksgiving Day and I’ve been thankful ever since.” Madeline explained how she went to school with Joe’s sister and worked with his other sister.  She said his sisters used to talk about Joe all the time.  Joe who was a paratrooper recalls, “I met Madeline in 1946 at a dance after the war.” They have been Valentines ever since!  Joe smiled real big as he said, “We don’t go a day without kissing each other.”

Joe and Madeline have been members of HEALTHTRAX for over 11 years.  When asked what their fitness goals are, Joe revealed his formula for a long, healthy and happy life.  He stated, “Keep moving… you hafta keep moving, it’s so important.  I want to help my body be healthy.  Moderation is important with everything in life.  Oh… and always make up, don’t stay mad.”  Madeline agreed and said, “I always want to be with Joe so I joined the gym.  He encouraged me because I was shy.”  She continued, “YOU CAN DO IT.” are Joe’s favorite words.

Being active all their lives, a typical workout for Joe and Madeline included the Nautilus circuit, flexibility training as well as the stationary bike.  Today Joe and Madeline are big fans of the yoga program at HEALTHTRAX.

When asked what advice they would give to anyone considering joining HEALTHTRAX or working with a TRAX TRAINER, Joe stated, “Can’t beat it, there’s something for everyone to do. The Trainers will help you out if you have any questions or need anything.”   Madeline added, “I love the people (at HEALTHTRAX), everyone is so friendly. The staff and members are always friendly and supportive. We tell everyone about Trax, even our children.”

Joe and Madeline are an inspiration.  They can be seen walking in the gym holding hands, smiling and greeting everyone with a warm “good morning.”  They continue to not only transform their bodies and health but also encourage those around them to do so as well!
